Prompt Response: During this past week I have been challenged in good ways. In my old Lit classes we usually just read, took notes, and then took a test. In this class we read short stories, watch videos and use our imagination through art. For me, a short story is so much better than a long one. I can focus more and really understand what I am reading. I also like how there are different focuses throughout the week and not just one. The one strength I know I will have is creating blog posts and using art to show cultural identity. I love art and I feel like I am good at my own writing. One disadvantage I think I will have is reading. If we start to read bigger books later on in the semester I get bored and my brain wanders. 

Summary: In class today I finished my cultural identity mask drawing and I started my mask reflection paper. 

Reflection: I am super happy with how my mask looks and I also really like the blog questions we have been getting.

My friend was cheating every weekend and her boyfriend knew but had no proof. I really liked my friend but it got to the point where I felt bad for her boyfriend. I eventually told him because she did not even want to be in a relationship but I still felt bad. I think that if she had cheated once but wanted to change I would have never told, but It was an ongoing situation. Summary: In class we read more but I had to leave early. Reflection: I am still really intrigued by this book and I think it shows real standards in real life.

Prompt: Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.  Prompt Response:  When I was at my family's friends house I was playing hide and seek with my two friends. During this time their dad was around a lot and did not live in Vegas at this time. A few years later his wife divorced him and now he lives in Vegas. But, one day my friends and I were all hanging out and he came down. When I was younger my ears were more out and bigger. He said that my ears made me look like a monkey. And then my friends decided it was funny and started saying it too. I think that a father should not be making jokes about his daughters friends, but he did anyways. Now, since then I always want to cover my ears and not make them noticeable. I have realized that I have grown and they are not as out and as big, but I still feel like that little kid. What do you know about your birth experience?

Response: I do not know a lot of my birth since I was adopted, but I know some things. First I was born in Jacksonville Florida when my birth mom was 16 years old. I do not know if she has had any issues but I know I was delivered safely.  Summary: I will ask her soon how I was delivered. Reflection: I really like reading poems and I think they are interesting to dive deep into.
