Prompt: As Celie’s world expands in these letters, she begins noticing new things about the people in her life. Write about a moment when you suddenly noticed something funny, shocking, or unexpected about someone you see every day (a family member, a classmate, or even a teacher). How did that new discovery change the way you saw them? Prompt Response:  One day I noticed that Grayson acted differently when I was feeling down. I was stressed and even though he has other things going on in his life he really stooped to listen to what I was going through. I did not realize how patient and caring he really was when I was talking about something stressful in my life. It made me see him as someone I can fully trust. Summary: During class we started answering questions on writable but we did not finish them. Reflection:  I am still enjoying the color purple and I hope that the end of the story ends happily.

Write about what you’ve learned from them and how their influence shows up in your daily life. Prompt Response:  In work the kids that I look after in aftercare influence me in a positive way everyday. They are always happy and talk to me about random "kid" things. It reminds me that even if I am having a bad day or in a bad mood that I should always look after the kids and show them positive things. Which then makes me into a happier and more positive influence. Summary: I was not at school yesterday Reflection:  I am still enjoying the book and I am interested to see what happens.

Prompt: Creating a video is more than just placing pictures together—it’s about capturing a feeling. Explain how you tried to bring your assigned letter to life in your Adobe Express video. What mood were you aiming for, and how did your editing choices help you communicate the message or emoti on of the letter? Prompt Response:  When I was creating my video I wanted to make sure it was not all one mood. When we all watched each other's videos I saw that not everyone had different sound choices. In my story Sofia gets pregnant from Harpo, which is my eyes is more of one of the good pregnancies versus when a lot of the women got raped and were forced through pregnancy. So when I showed a video for a woman pregnant I wanted to make sure there were happy sounds and not sounds in the background.  Summary: In class today we watched everyone's videos. Reflection:  I am still enjoying reading this book and I think each letter is special in its own way

I want to learn more about why Mr. beats Celie and how he grew up

I want to learn more about why Mr. beats Celie and how he grew up Prompt Response:  I want to know if Mr. grew up with abuse around him. Maybe his dad hit his wife or maybe his dad hit him growing up. I want to know if he thinks what he is doing is right or if he just does not care. Think about someone in your life who inspires you to be stronger or more confident. What qualities do they have that you admire and try to learn from? Prompt: After reading the first five letters of The Color Purple, reflect on your thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie’s early voice and struggles.

Prompt: After reading the first five letters of  The Color Purple , reflect on your thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie’s early voice and struggles. Prompt Response:  I think it's really insane that someone can act in such a vile way to another human. Even though hearing those curse words can sound funny, it shows a realistic point of view and how things like this are real life issues. The girl writing sentences wrong shows how actually young and uneducated she probably is. It shows that she might not even realize what's going on. This story has already immediately shown abuse in many forms and I am glad the author decided to be honest. If she was not honest then the story would not be true and the people who read this book would not know the severity of the truth.  Summary: In class we took notes over the color purple and we read the first five letters. Reflection:  I am surprised and shook by the book so far but I am enticed to keep reading.
