Prompt: The short film Born With It shows how stereotypes can shape the way people see others and even how individuals see themselves. Reflect on the main character’s experience and explain how stereotypes impacted his identity and sense of belonging. Then, connect this to a broader idea: how can stereotypes influence the way a culture or group is understood by others? Use specific examples from the film to support your response.

Prompt Response: In daily life people see each other and have ideas that form in their head. Some ideas can be stereotypes and others can be that a person is well dressed. Either way, these both come from how someone grew up and what the world around them is telling them. When stereotypes are brought to light and taken serious to a certain race, it can destroy someones confidence and make them dislike themselves. When certain races are put into certain groups, it makes it hard to see them in a different way. But it is up to us to change the way we think and see things.

Summary: I enjoyed today's film and I never knew black people were stereotyped for AIDS.

Reflection: I am excited for the weekend even though it is Monday.
