Prompt Response:  I think that learning about different types of stereotypes was pretty interesting. I think it is crazy that every type of person in the world has a stereotype. I also think that it is interesting that food and culture tie together to create a person. I think it is interesting that people eat each other's food cultures, but then still judge those people from where they came from.  Summary: I enjoyed learning about all the different cultures and perspectives in the world. Reflection:  I am very excited to graduate and go to Georgia Southern.

Prompt Response:  I found the white men in the south one to be the most interesting because I never really have seen people speak out against stereotypes for white people in general. I feel like most times I hear stereotypes against other races that are not white. It did not really change much for me, but it was just surprising overall to hear it. Summary: I am glad that was our last presentation and I am excited for the end of the year Reflection:  I hope to finish my class with an A. I know I will.

Prompt Response:  I think that if I really love the job that I do then I can easily get higher up into the business and make really good money. Right now I am focused on what I want to do that will give me money to be successful. But I am not focused on money with my job. I I wanted money I would be a lawyer, but I know that kind of job would drain me. Summary:I enjoyed class today and It was interesting seeing the different amounts of jobs in different cities.  Reflection:  I cannot believe there is only 10 school days left.

Prompt Response:  I think getting out of a repetitive cycle is the most exciting thing. I have always had issues with waking up early and going to the same classes everyday. It makes me depressed and I have never enjoyed school. I am excited to also be away from home and to be in a new setting. It is exciting but also scary. Summary:I enjoyed the ted talk and I thought it was very interesting Reflection:  I am so happy it is Friday and I cannot wait for the weekend.

Prompt Response:  If I were to wear long shorts with a wife beater then I think people would probably judge and think I am weird. They would probably think that there is something wrong with me. Summary: I am enjoying class and I enjoyed creating the slides about stereotypes. Reflection:  I am so glad it is almost Friday.

When I was growing up I used to ride around on bikes everywhere and go to North lake Mall. In stranger things, when Mike and all of his friends are young they ride around on bikes and go to malls and parks and things like that. I always loved a simple outgoing as a child. Summary: I enjoyed today's class today and I am basically finished with my part of the project, I did all of the Euphoria information. I think that Everest is going to do most of the talking since me and Jonathan are doing most of the work.  Reflection:  I am trying to enjoy my last few days of high school instead of missing them.

Prompt Response:  In daily life people see each other and have ideas that form in their head. Some ideas can be stereotypes and others can be that a person is well dressed. Either way, these both come from how someone grew up and what the world around them is telling them. When stereotypes are brought to light and taken serious to a certain race, it can destroy someones confidence and make them dislike themselves. Prompt Response:  I have been watching the show suits for a while now, and It has made me feel like New York is a very lawyer centered place. The whole show is about this group of lawyers that own the "best" law firm in the city. Although they think they are the best, there is also many more law firms throughout the city. When I visited New York It was hard to spot the differences between buildings and it did not really feel like a big law city. Prompt Response:  I believe that some film makers keep using  stereotypes because it is what people are used to. I think filmmakers believe it is what the audience thinks is funny or want to see. I believe that if some stereotypes are used for comedic reasons, showing them in a wrong way to show people how crazy they are that it is a good thing. But people should not be making films based on them thinking that stereotypes are actually the everyday person.  Summary:I was not in class, but I got the common lit completed. Reflection:  I am looking forward to Friday.

It shows the "mean" girls which are white and "pretty" and then the nerds who are "fat" or not pretty or whatever they think is not cool. I watched it when I knew the difference from what people should act and how they shouldn't. But if a little kid watched this I could see how they would think in order to be cool or pretty that they would need to be mean. Summary: I enjoyed todays class and I am glad we are watching films. Reflection:  I am so excited to graduate.

Prompt Response:  Even though I am white, My hair has a lot of different textures to it. When I wash it and let it dry down it looks pretty straight with a little bit of wave. But if I put curl cream in my hair and scrunch my hair becomes curly. I am not sure why that is, maybe from my middle eastern or Italian background. I feel very proud of my hair when the curls come out super good. I feel super clean and put together. Summary:I enjoyed our short film. I think it was put together super well. Reflection:  I can not believe I only have 5 weeks left of school.

Everyone has different backgrounds and food and none of them are "not normal". I think all foods are great and I hope to try all kinds of different foods. Prompt Response:  Food helps us to remember our traditions and cultural. Without food we don't have a smell, taste, and texture to remember for ourselves of how were all different. Instead of missing your cultural you can bring it with you in a bag. Its nice to remember traditions through food, instead of having to travel or worry about forgetting your traditions. Summary: I enjoyed how we did not just read today, but that we also watched two different videos. It kept me engaged and I enjoyed listening and learning. Reflection:  I hope spring break com...

Prompt Response:  Its significant because its showing care over her traditions and how her cultural works. Sometimes I will grab water for my friends before they ask because since I wanted water I have to think about how they want water to. Its the little things of noticing and thinking before doing something. Summary: I was absent but reading this I understand what "Lunch" was about Reflection:  I am enjoying how deep were are diving into cultural and food.

Prompt Response:  I had a stereotype against sushi once because I believed that it was just raw fish and gross. My friend told me about the California roll and I realized I was wrong. It was fresh and really good. My perspective changed after that bite. I realized that judging food based on stereotypes can cause me to miss out on tasty things. Now I am more open to try new things. Explain how at least one food from the episode reflects culture, identity, or community. Prompt Response: Yakemin represents people coming together and forming a community. It is a meal that people have made for years and represents culture. It is also a way of people showing themselves to other people. It forms bonds and friendships. Summary: I really enjoyed watching the Netflix show and it showed how many different foods there are that bring people together. I am sure there are plenty of other foods that represent culture and community as well.   R eflection:  I feel like I still do not really have a food that represents my ethnicity. I grew up eating different cultures food and I love that I did. I think American cultured food is not as good as others. I definitely love hamburgers and french fries though.

Prompt Response:  My family does not really stay in the lines of culture. My dad honestly likes other cultures food more than our own. It was kinda hard to make my cultural food traditions poster because of this. I personally love all foods and I will try a lot of different things. Summary: I can not believe there are only 7 school days till Spring break. I am super excited for that and for prom. Reflection:  I enjoyed diving deeper into food and the traditions that I have.

Prompt: How did the writing process (brainstorming, drafting, revising, proofreading, and finalizing) shape the strength of the final essay, and what was learned about your personal strengths and areas for growth as a writer? Prompt Response: It made it much easier to organize my thoughts and when I read over what I already wrote on the paper I could adjust things that I thought needed fixing and make a better judgement over what I wrote. I figured out that I am actually good at essays and my brain flows pretty well with them.  Summary: I am glad the essay is over and I think I did well. Reflection:  I hope that I get a 100 :)

Use your own experience from this essay to explain how drafting improved (or revealed weaknesses in) your thinking. Prompt Response:  At first before drafting I felt nervous as to where to start. But now I feel very content and not stressed about my essay. I feel like writing it down made me realize that I am a good writer and that I have almost half of my essay done. I think I will do much better now. I also think that being able to organize my thoughts reassures me to make changes if needed. Summary: I am enjoying how we are given time to really think about our essays and how to make sure they are perfect. Reflection: I think I forgot to talk about the stranger things play I went to last weekend on my last post. I really enjoyed the show and it was much better than I thought it would be. I am super glad I went but I am glad I will be home this weekend.

Last year I did super good on my essays so I hope I will do well on this one. I think that I just have a hard time putting all my thoughts together.  Summary: I am excited for this weekend, I was in New York last weekend, but I want to go home. Reflection:  I am nervous for my essay but think I will do good.
